Dolphins have wrapped up their coaching search and have made their decision for their next head coach.
Ian Rapoport reports that the Dolphins are targeting Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores for their vacant head coach job.
Flores began his NFL career as a scouting assistant for the Patriots in 2004. He became a pro scout in 2006 before becoming the special teams coaching assistant in 2008. He was named assistant coach offense/special teams in 2010 and later became the defensive assistant in 2011. In 2012 he became safeties coach in 2012 and became the linebackers coach in 2016. After the departure of Matt Patricia, Flores took over the defensive play calling duties in 2018.
Along with Mike Tomlin with the Steelers, Anthony Lynn with the Chargers and Ron Rivera with the Panthers, Flores will be just the fourth minority head coach in the NFL entering the 2019 season.
